Frequently Asked Questions

What is airbrush makeup and why do I want it?

We use high definition water based airbrush makeup (Kett) which is misted onto clean dry skin via air from the compressor gun - think an airbrush tan just smaller! High definition makeup is designed to be imperceptible by high definition TV, which is 80x stronger than the naked eye. So needless to say skin looks flawless but super natural and never cakey or heavy. It is water resistant and lasts through up to 15 hours of high energy wear.

Do I need a bridal makeup trial?

No. About 30% of our brides choose not to trial. If you are out of town or don't have time to fit in a trial before your wedding day you can always email photos of yourself and your makeup inspiration pictures. We will work slowly, ask a lot of questions and guarantee you will be thrilled with your makeup. Trialing is always suggested but not mandatory.

What is your style?

We like to say our style is extremely natural with a pop here or there. Sally prefers natural glowing skin and choosing one feature to emphasize. Whether it's a smoky eye or red lip or something in between, playing up just one feature in particular allows for a clean, classic makeup look that will render your wedding photos absolutely timeless.

How do I secure my date?

We take a 30% deposit to hold the date with the balance due 7 days prior to the wedding day. We know you don't want to deal with money on your wedding day and neither do we!

What are your top pre-wedding do's and dont's?

🗸 Do clean up your diet and start drinking water on a regular basis. Cutting out sugar and processed foods and exercising regularly will do wonders for your skin.

🗸 Do get regular facials with your last one not less than two weeks prior to the wedding day. You might never have breaks outs from your facial but it can happen and you need time to heal if it does happen.

🗴 Never wax your face, ever. If you do, do it at least two weeks prior to the wedding day. But seriously don't. Hot wax and delicate facial skin don't mix.

🗴 Don't change up your products too close to the wedding day. If you are using products that work for you, keep going. If you need to switch, do it at least 8 weeks prior to ensure the product is working for you and you don't have any reactions. A pimple or two is easy to hide but anything more can get tricky.

What type of makeup do you use?

We use a mix of professional and commercial products that can be found at any department store or Sephora. Sally offers toxin free organic products when requested but for weddings does prefer longer wearing, waterproof items when possible. Sally's kit includes brands like Nars, Kevyn Aucoin, Tarte, Kett Cosmetics, Charlotte Tilbury etc....
